A key aspect to valuing vintage diecast vehicles is their condition. Very much like assessing a hire car before hire, take a look at the body work, paint condition, wheel hubs, Tyre condition, the four corners of the vehicle, glass - windscreen, windows, wing mirrors. Once you have done this apply one of the following condition codes.
Model Condition Codes
Mint (M) : The model to be complete, new in appearance and in as received condition from the manufacturer.
Excellent (E) : Near mint, slight flaws, no paint work chipping in important areas.
Very Good (VG) : Model to be complete in original condition, no repaint, few minor chips in paint work allowed.
Good (G) : Model to be complete in original condition, no repaint, chips and minor paint rubbing.
Box Condition Codes
Mint (M) : Box complete internally & externally, have original packaging, leaflets and documents intact, factory fresh as received from factory.
Excellent (E) : Box almost mint, some storage scuffing, bubble pack not cracked or split
Very Good (VG) : Box to be complete with all flaps intact, allowed to show signs of wear, but not to look tired or fading.
Good (G) : Box to be complete with all flaps intact, allowed to show signs of wear, tired and some fading.
